ABOUT US

For over fifty-five years, Saint Bridget School in Abington has provided boys and girls, from pre-school through grade 8, with a solid education in a Catholic tradition. SBS is proud to be accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The school serves over one hundred and fifty families from communities throughout the South Shore. SBS provides a safe and supportive learning environment with high academic and social standards that produces responsible, life-long learners. Our school environment is one that encourages curiosity, while supporting critical thinking and fostering problem-solving skills. It promotes creativity by exposing all students to new and different ideas.

Students experience a well-rounded academic program in which core academic subjects are supplemented by music, instrumental lessons, computer technology, physical education, and Spanish in grades K - 8. To better support student learning, all of our classrooms are equipped with the latest technology, including iPads and Apple TVs. Students use this technology to share ideas, communicate their learning, and for independent research. The school believes by providing the most cutting-edge technology, it can positively impact learners and the productivity of our students, as well as provide the necessary 21st century skills for future success.

The Extended Day Program provides an exciting and enriching before and after school program in a safe, caring environment.  Care is available before school starting at 7 am and after school until 6 pm. The Extended Day Program staff is dedicated to the development, education and care of children and focuses on cooperative team-building games, and homework support.

In addition to the Extend Day Program there are many opportunities for students to extend their learning beyond the school day throughout the year. Saint Bridget School offers many clubs and activities for students to participate in after school such as karate, drama, and athletics.

NEASC APPROVED

During the 2011-2012 school year, the staff and faculty of Saint Bridget School underwent an intensive self-study in preparation for re-accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).  The NEASC Visiting Team conducted an extensive review of our program in the Fall of 2012. We are proud that we recieved re-accreditation with high praise. This accreditation is good for ten years!

The accreditation process continues today.  Since gaining re-accreditation, we continue to assess our program and have to periodically submit, in writing, our response to the continuing recommendations of the NEASC.  This helps our school plan for the future with assurance that we are on the right track.
