Lend A Hand

Welcome to our newest section, Lend a Hand, where you’ll find lots of little ways to help our school. Some of these programs you already know about.  Some of the items we are requesting are things that you might have around the house and no longer need.  For example, sometimes we need things for art projects like egg cartons, etc. that you would normally throw out.  Some requests are items you might be able to have your company donate to the school.

HELP US…… HELP OUR SCHOOL

728x90 Banner

Did you know there’s an easy way to help us raise money for our school?  It’s called Take Charge of Education, and it’s helping our school right now.

Here’s how it works:

Visit Target.com/tcoe or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate our school, and then use your REDcard whenever you shop.  When you use your REDcardSM (Target® Visa® Credit Card, Target Credit Card® or Target Check Card®), Target will donate up to 1% of your purchases to the eligible school of your choice.

Grandparents, alumni, friends and neighbors are all welcome to participate in the program. The more people we involve, the harder the program works for our school.  If you’re already participating, thank you!  Check out our school’s progress anytime at Target.com/tcoe.

HOW IT ADDS UP……

Our school’s progress is detailed online. Visit Target.com/tcoe and enter your school’s name and state to see:

• Our school’s last payout from the program

• The amount our school has received from Target to date (since 1997)

• Our school’s progress toward the next payout, updated daily

• How many people have enrolled in the program and designated your school

Thank you,

Rachel Leonard (RMDamiani@aol.com)

Thank you,

Rachel Leonard (RMDamiani@aol.com)

Please note, each year, you must re-register your card in order for our school to receive credit.

NIE

NIE stands for Newspapers in Education, a program that allows students the opportunity to learn about current events using local newspapers. In the 2006-2007 school year, the Wells family sponsored our school. In the 2007-2008 school year, Christine Grundy of the Mutual Bank in Whitman sponsored our school. If you would like to sponsor our school, or any other school, you can contact the NIE offices at either The Patriot Ledger or The Enterprise.

It Takes a Village

Some of the classroom wish lists contain items that are expensive for the classroom teacher to purchase for his/her entire class.  If a few parents occasionally bought some of the items, we’d have enough for the entire class in no time at all.  As one parent said, “I can’t afford to buy enough for a whole class, but I could pick up some glue sticks every time I went to the store if I knew what was needed.”  Check the WISH LISTS page for needed items.

Please check back here from time to time to see what we could use.  Don’t forget to check the RESOURCES page for the web sites of some of our ongoing programs!

Thank you!

Papa Gino’s Raising Dough Night

Our Papa Gino’s Raising Dough Night is a monthly fundraiser.  The Saint Bridget School fundraiser night is the third Wednesday of each month.  When you order Papa Gino’s that night at either the Weymouth or Whitman stores, twenty percent of the pre-tax sales of your order is donated to the school.  Both stores will deliver as long as you are located in their delivery area.  A Papa Gino’s flier will be sent home with your child on the night of the fundraiser.  Please make sure you give the flier to the delivery person or to the cashier if picking up the order, otherwise our school will not be given credit for your order.  The homeroom that raises the most money at the end of the school year will receive a free pizza party.  No coupons can be used with your order due to the twenty percent donation return.  The more families who participate, the more money we will raise for our children.
