        8th Grade Photos

During the 8th Grade Family Dinner-Dance a photo presentation of 8th grade classmates is shown during dinner. It is a huge hit for parents, teachers and students. Additionally, each student receives a DVD copy as a memory of their years at St. Bridget. The PowerPoint-type presentation takes many hours to compile and it starts with you providing a set of pictures that represent special moments in your son/daughter’s life.

WHAT’S THE DEADLINE?

December 15 and February 15. Start checking your albums and computer for pictures and send us what you have by December 15 so that we can start to compile the DVD. February 15 is the final deadline to submit all pictures.

WHAT TYPES OF PICS DO MOST PARENTS SEND IN?

Personal Pictures: Send in approximately 15-20 pictures of your child, such as:

Baby/toddler, family shots, including extended family, 1st days of school, 1st communion,

Formal pictures, Vacations, Special events, holidays, 8th grade photo

Group Pictures: In addition, please send in group pictures from birthday parties or school events, e.g, Field trips, field day, back-to-school barbecue. Group Pictures do not count as part of your child’s personal pictures.

PRINT OR ELECTRONIC?

We’re telling you about the project now so that you’ll have time to scan older prints to electronic files. Ritz and other camera companies offer a scanning service. Some of your friends might have a scanner. Ask around. We’ll accept print if you cannot convert them. We would like printed pics by the December 15 deadline.

LABEL YOUR PICs

Write your name on the back of the pic. Use your name in the filename (Smith01.jpg, for example).

WHERE DO THEY GO?

Once you have chosen your pictures, send prints in an envelope to the attention of Rachel Leonard or Art McClintock. We will scan them and return them to you. There will be more information on this later.

You can email your pictures to a.mcclintock@yahyoo.com

Each student will receive a DVD during the summer of 2010. We will add dinner dance and graduation pictures to the final copy.

Please do not hesitate to contact either Rachel (781-871-0848) or Art McClintock (781-871-6154) with any questions or concerns.

(DVDS COST ABOUT $0.50 EACH. We can probably figure out how to get 50 of them without charging.)

Thank you,

Rachel Leonard and Art McClintock

Our eighth grade students are accepted to a variety of parochial and public schools.  It is never too early to begin thinking of your child’s future!  To assist you in this planning, we include the following links to most common high schools our students attend once leaving Saint Bridget School.

In addition to checking the individual websites, the Archdiocese of Boston website has a calendar of Open House dates for many schools.  www.abcso.org/openhouse.htm
