Term 1 has been a very busy time for Team Seven. The Team
just finished a service project called Pennies for Peace. We
have raised over $700, over 70,000 pennies to help build
schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Team Seven has gone GREEN. Team Seven has been working
really hard to reduce the amount of paper we use. For
instance, in our vocabulary and English book, we use a
separate piece of paper.

The Team is also recycling whenever possible. Next year, the
new seventh graders can use the same books that we use this
year.
Team Seven has worked on integers in math. We have learned
to add, subtract, multiply and divide equations with
integers. We are now graphing equations.

Team Seven has two time blocks a week for projects when we
have time to work on integrated projects. We just finished
Uh-Oh in the Land of Operations. Now, we are working
on Hero Flakes.
Several members of the team are playing on the school
basketball team. And we wish the SBS Knights good success
this year.

This is what Team Seven has been learning over the past
three months of school. It has been busy but fun for most of
us. During this time, Team Seven has become leaders in our
school.

Hello and welcome to Team 7’s Webpage! Our page will
tell you about the Team, and what we have been doing. Here you
will see pictures of the Team at work and read about our latest
achievements.
First, you are probably wondering why we call ourselves Team
7, instead of grade 7. We are a Team because we don’t work
alone- we work together, respect ourselves, and support our
teammates. As we work towards our individual goals, we also
work toward the goal of becoming better team players. We try
to do our best all the time, and we remember we have to stay
a team and work out our differences. Together, we can reach
any goal and overcome any obstacles we might face.
We are presently reading The Outsiders and several
short stories in Literature. We will be doing many projects
this year. An example is our present project, Hero Flakes. We
research a person who is a hero to us and share that information
in class. Besides the research and written report, we will create
a visual model and make short oral presentations to the Team.
Math class is very challenging!
We are learning algebra and geometry.
Our morning begins with a challenging problem of the day that
requires The Team to think mathematically and use logic. Mr.
Smith says “Math is not a spectator sport.” Like most skills,
you can only learn it by trying it and giving it your best efforts.
We continue to use the Open Circle social competency program
as an important forum for The Team to reflect, discuss, and
resolve situations. The most recent focus was on being a true
friend.
